Cartography as a career

A UK based paper did an article profiling cartography as a career. They highlight some of the skills needed and what to expect from a career in cartography. Of course, all people who study GIS are not necessarily going to be cartographers but every GIS person could use some skills in appropriately visualizing large amounts of GIS data so that other people can understand the data.

If you like maps, geography, have good design sense and are really sharp with computers ... consider taking our GIS classes and maybe one day becoming a cartographer.
